If you missed my last post, let me catch you up: Mug Recipes are great because they are single-serve recipes that are easy to make and take almost no time at all!
Today I'll share with you a really quick and easy breakfast Mug Recipe, and you'll get a great bonus at the end of this post, too, that makes a fun and unique gift idea!!
As with all the recipes here at Easy Pantry Recipes, this French toast recipe can be made with shelf-stable (pantry-friendly) ingredients, which means you can have these ingredients always on hand.
But I think this is so much better than traditional French toast because it's much less mess!
PREP TIME: 2 minutes
COOK TIME: 2 minutes
INGREDIENTS
- 2 slices of bread, cubed (While not a long-term storage item, most people have a loaf of bread in the pantry. For homemade bread from pantry-friendly ingredients, try this delicious Easy Homemade Bread in An Hour and a Half or this Soft Two-and-a-Half-Hour Whole Wheat Bread)
- 1/4 c. pantry-friendly milk (I like this brand; or, you may use any type of milk you like, including non-pantry-friendly/fresh)
- equivalent of 1 reconstituted egg (Find the "scrambled egg mix" here or use 1 fresh egg, if preferred)
- 1/2 tsp. sugar or other sweetener
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla
- toppings such as jam, fruit, butter, or syrup (You can even get freeze-dried honey here. See pantry-friendly butter/substitutions here.)
That sounds tasty!
ReplyDeleteIt is, and you can add whatever toppings you like. :) Super easy, too.

DeleteThanks so much for hosting, Stephanie!
DeleteThis is perfect for my house, sometimes I need more protein for breakfast.
ReplyDeleteI hope your family really enjoys it, Melynda. I have a friend who adds a little protein powder into this, too. Thanks so much for stopping in.
DeleteThis sounds delicious... and easy! I love that I can make one serving as my husband is gluten free and while I usually adhere to that diet as well, I also get a craving for bread once in awhile! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes--that's a good point! This single serving recipe can be adjusted so that one person gets gluten while another doesn't. :) Enjoy! Thanks for dropping by, Laura.
DeleteWhat a clever idea. I can't wait to try it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Aletha. I hope you enjoy it!
